Like most kids I loved making art when little but never stopped as I got older. I attended the School of Visual arts in New York City and studied graphic design and illustration as well as photography. I also took classes at the New York Institute of Technology to study computer graphics for illustration. After college I started my first design business called Zero Hour Inc. where I serviced companies like International Paper, Swatch, MTV, Converse and well known publications like New York Magazine. 


During the course of my career as a designer and illustrator I explored ways to use technology. I was using various computer graphics systems even before the Macintosh to produce work that was unique. My mix of traditional and computer techniques were used to produce illustrations for many book covers, packaging and magazines.


I moved to California to work for one of the hottest skateboard companies, Vision and Vision Street Wear. I was charged with bringing all the various art departments together and supervising them. During my tenure there, we produced everything from board and apparel graphics for skateboarding and snowboarding, packaging, advertising, textile design, video production and event and tradeshow design. I brought in Macs and showed the staff how we could use them to produce ads, catalogs and even film separations for clothing.


I then started another design studio called FUSE with the focus on the then emerging interactive category.  We provided all the traditional services of graphic design for print and packaging etc. But more and more we got the reputation for being one of the hottest interactive shops on the west coast. Companies like Hewlett Packard, Yamaha, Sony Columbia Tri Star, Fujitsu, Toyota, Taco Bell and Pepsi came to us for integrated solutions. During this time we garnered many awards and recognition in publications and even one of the first CLIOs ever handed out for interactive work.


I sold my stake in this company and decided to get back to my priorities and focus on design and art as opposed to running a large company. I’ve been much happier, working one-on-one with clients like Mattel, Avery Dennison, Samsung, Ruby’s and Disney among others. In additon to providing print and interactive services to clients, I also jumped into mobile app design and have produced enterprise and consumer apps. It was during this transition that I started to put more focus on my fine art in addition to my work as graphic and interactive designer. 


I’ve always worked with traditional materials but my main interest lies in digital creation. I constantly explore how to utilize the newest software and hardware to create innovative works and especially utilize the iPad and the multitude of apps available to create new and interesting works. My understanding of drawing and painting along with photography and darkroom techniques constantly play a role in my art whether it be commercial or fine art based.
