The Art of Russell Pierce

Probably like most people, I was introduced to his writing in school. I think the first piece I read was The Old Man and the Sea. Some of his other well-known works are, Indian Camp, A Farewell to Arms, The Sun Also Rises and For Whom the Bell Tolls. He was considered a great author and journalist and he inspired many authors with his style of writing but he was also a fascinating character in his own right. At 18 he was an ambulance driver in World War I and a journalist covering World War II. He was also an adventurer, traveling the world and his exploits are legendary.
